Crust Me On This...

Graham Cracker Crust

So, I have been a bad wife. My husband gave me the most wonderful Valentines Day ever. However, I kind of feel like he got gipped. So I made up for it with my strawberry cheese pie. My mother has always just bought the crust ready made in those cheap little throw away tins. Nothing wrong with that, but sometimes I like to outdo myself.

I found a few recipes online which I liked, but...I'm a sucker for brown sugar. Which I found that none of those recipes have! It really is WAY better. Not to mention, I got to use my mother in laws pretty glass pie dish. Least to say, I think I saved Tyler's Valentines Day!

Here's how:

6 TBS - Unsalted Butter
1/3 Cup - Brown Sugar
1 Pack of Graham Crackers (About 8-9 crackers to be exact!)

I actually used my food processor to chop up those crackers. It gave the PERFECT consistancy. You just want it to be a little bigger than sand.

Get your mixer out, melt your butter completely, and add your brown sugar!

Then add it to your dish.

Next step, would be putting it in the oven (350 degrees, please!) for about 10 minutes.

ANNNND...VOILA! You have a delicious, homemade crust! I'm never turning back!

Chocolate Chip Off the Old Block

I am just here to populate the internet with more recipes, disasters, and delicious food. I am a food fanatic and desire to be a good little cook/baker for my husband and gorgeous girls. I figured the first thing I would accomplish, is a proper introduction!

My name is Leanna Brown, recently married. I have an amazing husband, a daughter who would shock you with her beauty, and one little bun in the oven.

I am an accountant for the state of Florida, and thoroughly enjoy my job. I also have a growing event styling business. I just recently let go of my etsy shop selling party decor to spend more time on making our growing business successful.

I was born and raised in the south, but fortunately for you (and myself), I type faster than I can talk!

Now, on to the point of this little food blog:

- Creating new recipes
- REMEMBERING how to make them again
- Sharing my progress with the world
- Receiving the opinions of others, on how well I can actually cook.

Anyway, I won't bore you with any more chatter.
Here's a picture of my family. :)

Eat some cake...or cookies...or whatever makes you happy, and come back to see me!
